Why LiDAR and Thermal Are Separate Payloads

LiDAR and radiometric thermal sensors are distinct pieces of hardware, each with their own weight, power, and mounting requirements. On most drone platforms, a single flight carries one primary sensor payload at a time, meaning a LiDAR survey and a thermal survey of the same site are typically two separate missions, flown on their own schedules, even if they're scoped as part of the same overall project.


Why It Matters
